In this article, you will learn how to find deleted files in the archive, restore single or multiple files, and download files from the archive. The archive contains all files that you or your team have deleted for a client.
Requirements
You are logged in as a Payroll Admin
You have access to the client whose files you want to manage
The files were previously deleted from the document storage (e.g., from a payroll folder or an employee’s personnel file)
Navigate to the Archive
Open the Documents menu in the left main navigation.
Select the desired client
Go to either the Payroll or Employees tab.
Find the archive at the end of each page.
Click on the row to open it.
Understanding the Archive Overview
The archive shows all deleted files of your client.
It displays the following information:
Name: File name
Deleted on: Date and time of deletion
Deleted by: Name of the person who deleted the file
ID: Employee number (if available)
Last name / First name: Assigned employee
Category: Document type (e.g., payslip, health certificate)
The table can be sorted by these columns. You can also search for files using the search field in the top right (minimum 3 characters).
Restore a Single File
Find the file in the archive.
Click the restore icon (left arrow) in the last column of the row.
The file is restored and appears in its original folder (e.g., in the payroll month or in the employee’s personnel file). A success message confirms the restoration.
Restore Multiple Files
Select the checkboxes next to the files you want to restore.
Or choose 'Select all' in the header row to select all files on the current page.
An action bar appears at the bottom showing the number of selected files.
Click 'Restore (X)'.
All selected files are restored. A success message shows the number of restored files and the target folders (e.g., '3 to folder Payroll January 2026'). You can click the folder links to navigate directly there.
Download Files from the Archive
You can download files from the archive without restoring them:
Single file: Click the download icon in the file’s row.
Multiple files: Select the desired documents using the checkboxes and click 'Download (X)' in the action bar.
The files are downloaded as a ZIP file.
